It is best enjoyed over two or three days, with layers for cold mornings and a flexible plan, since balloon flights depend entirely on the weather. Long-distance coaches from Istanbul and other cities run overnight to Nevsehir. Cheap and comfortable, but the journey takes many hours. Confirm the onward transfer to your village.
Driving gives full freedom to reach the underground cities and outer valleys. Roads are good, but the drive from Istanbul is long, so many people fly and rent a car locally.
