It is a distinctly Hejazi tradition sold from family stalls around Jeddah, especially through Ramadan, with a tangy, faintly fizzy taste unlike anything most visitors will have tried.
Look for street vendors and small shops in and around Al-Balad; it is usually served ice-cold in disposable cups.

Specialty camel-milk cafes and supermarket chillers both stock it; try it plain before trying the flavoured versions.
