Tourist scams in Switzerland — and how to avoid them
These are the tourist scams Trzly has documented across Switzerland, grouped by destination. Each one is real, with a clear way to stay safe. Read before you land.

Overpriced tourist restaurants

Uncertified adventure operators

Taxi overcharging
Как это работает: Taxis in Interlaken are expensive and mostly unnecessary, and a driver may quote a high flat fare, take a longer route, or add surcharges for a short hop that public transport covers cheaply.

Found-ring and petition distractions

Euro payment and card conversion

Marked-up mountain tickets

Souvenir and watch markups

Pickpockets in crowds

Fake charity and petition collectors

Fake or overpriced ticket sellers
