A soft, sharp, peppery aged cheese that is a protected specialty of Mykonos and the Cyclades, spread on bread or rusks as a meze. Its strong, tangy flavour comes from a long fermentation and it is a true local taste.
Try it spread on a barley rusk with tomato and olive oil, a classic Cycladic mouthful.

Late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) offer warm weather, swimmable seas, lively but manageable crowds and better value than peak season.
