Look for street vendors and small shops in and around Al-Balad; it is usually served ice-cold in disposable cups.

Al-Balad and the Corniche are pleasant on foot, but the city overall is spread out and hot for much of the year, so ride-hailing is the practical way to move between areas.

Modest dress is expected in public, covering shoulders and knees. Jeddah is generally more relaxed than some other Saudi cities, but conservative clothing remains the respectful default.
